One of the first things Ros did when elected was to get dozens of broken pedestrian barriers on the Kings Hedges Road/ Cambridge Road/ Histon Road junction replaced. Ros was horrified by the mess of deformed metal, which made the pedestrian island look unsafe and neglected and which probably offered minimal protection in the event of an accident. Seeing the metal guard rails replaced for tidy, new straight barriers for the first time in years felt like a real success story.
After 3 years of reporting the guard rail on the traffic island near Howgate Road on Kings Hedges Road as also finally been fixed and Ros has worked with residents to keep the section of Kings Hedges Road by Kings Meadow tidy with pavement sweeping and tree cutting.
